About the RoleLead and manage the Casey Aboriginal Gathering Place, a respected community hub that supports culture, connection, wellbeing and belonging for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Provide leadership, coaching and support to a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering innovative and culturally safe programs, services and initiatives for the local Aboriginal community.Drive strategic initiatives that strengthen Aboriginal self-determination, cultural connection, inclusion, community wellbeing and belonging across the City of Casey.Lead the implementation of Council's Reconciliation Strategy and contribute to the delivery of broader organisational priorities, including cultural inclusion, community wellbeing and strategic planning initiatives.Build and maintain strong partnerships with community members, Traditional Owners, Aboriginal organisations, service providers and key stakeholders to enhance outcomes for community.Strengthen Aboriginal community engagement by ensuring community voices inform planning, decision-making, service delivery and continuous improvement.Provide strategic advice and influence Council-wide practice to enhance cultural safety and deliver positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

What You’ll BringDemonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities and building trusted community relationships.Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate, develop and support high-performing teams.Experience managing programs, budgets and community-focused services to achieve positive outcomes. Proven ability to build effective partnerships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community wellbeing, cultural safety, inclusion and the role of local government.Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, and Eligibility to Work check.
