John Flynn Private Hospital is a 354 bed, acute care hospital located at Tugun, which is on the southern end of the Gold Coast, within 5 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport. The hospital provides services to the population of the Gold Coast and the Tweed Coast extending into the NSW Northern Rivers area.

John Flynn provides a wide range of health care services with a 24 hour emergency department, comprehensive cardiac services, general and orthopaedic surgery, cancer services, medical, maternity and paediatrics, renal dialysis, day surgery and rehabilitation services.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Enrolled Nurse to join our cardiac surgical team at John Flynn Private Hospital. In this critical role, you will provide specialised nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional clinical skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in a fast-paced environment
• Monitor and manage post-operative surgery patients and medical patients
• Collaborate closely with Visiting Medical Officers and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Support patients and families through recovery and education
• You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery in alignment with hospital policies

Skills and Experience

• Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse
• Must be IV qualified and medication endorsed 
• Minimum of 12 months acute experience
• Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
• Highly organised with a proven ability to manage emergency situations
• Demonstrates strong adaptability in dynamic situations
• Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
• Cardiac & Surgical experience preferred but not essential
