About the role

Fintry Autos is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis at our Wongawallan QLD 4210 location. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and customer expectations. As a key member of our automotive team, you will play an essential part in delivering high-quality service and maintaining the reputation of Fintry Autos within the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and visual inspection techniques

• Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections and fluid top-ups

• Repair and replace vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspension systems and brake systems

• Conduct pre-delivery inspections and safety checks on completed work

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used and time spent on each job

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs needed, timelines and costs

• Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Utilise workshop equipment and tools safely and responsibly

• Stay current with vehicle technology and repair techniques through ongoing training

What we're looking for

• Valid automotive mechanic qualifications or equivalent trade certification

• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a qualified mechanic

• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems and brake systems

• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service specifications

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

• Current driver's licence

• Commitment to health and safety practices and regulations

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new vehicle technologies
