About the role
Berry Springs Tavern is looking for an experienced and qualified Chef to join our busy, high-volume kitchen. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced chef who takes pride in quality, consistency and kitchen operations.
Key responsibilities
Leading and managing kitchen service during busy periods
Preparing and cooking a high volume of food to a consistently high standard
Ensuring dishes are presented consistently and efficiently
Planning and managing daily prep and kitchen operations
Developing and contributing to specials and menu ideas
Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
Working closely with management and front-of-house to ensure smooth service
Maintaining high standards across the kitchen at all times
About you
Relevant culinary qualifications
Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
Strong knowledge of modern food safety practices and kitchen hygiene
Experience managing busy service periods and high-volume trade
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to confidently manage a kitchen and kitchen team
Ability to maintain consistency and quality under pressure
A strong work ethic and professional attitude
Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to lead by example
Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
