About the role
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Chef/Cook to join our busy café kitchen on a full-time basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys early starts, a consistent daytime roster, and working in a friendly, team-focused environment. No night work. About Us - Avenue Café is a popular local café known for great coffee, quality food, and a warm atmosphere. We take pride in our high standards, supportive team culture, and looking after our regulars.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Preparing and cooking high-quality café-style meals and specials
• Maintaining excellent food presentation and consistency
• Working efficiently during busy service periods
• Keeping the kitchen clean and organised to food safety standards
• Supporting the team and communicating clearly with front-of-house staff
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook (café, restaurant or similar)
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Strong team player with good communication skills
• Comfortable with early starts
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Food safety knowledge (or willingness to obtain)
