About the role
Rigtech Pty Ltd is seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our growing team in Altona North, Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of our construction projects. As a Project Engineer, you will be at the heart of project execution, bridging the gap between design concepts and on-site reality. You will work collaboratively with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on significant construction initiatives whilst developing your expertise in project engineering.
What you'll be doing
Manage and coordinate technical aspects of construction projects from inception through to completion, ensuring compliance with design specifications and contractual requirements
Prepare and review project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality assurance plans
Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor progress, quality standards, and adherence to safety regulations
Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during construction, working collaboratively with site teams and contractors
Coordinate with design consultants, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and address design queries
Monitor project budgets and timelines, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions to keep projects on track
Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, and technical documentation for project stakeholders
Support the General Manager in coordinating procurement activities and managing supplier relationships
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices across the organisation
Company compliance with Australian Standards and Regulations, ISO Quality and Safety Management Systems
Parts selection and sourcing
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
2-5 years of experience in construction project engineering or a similar technical role within the construction industry
Solid understanding of construction methodologies, project delivery systems, and site management practices
Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards relevant to construction projects
Proficiency in using project management software, CAD programmes, BIM Software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Professional engineering accreditation (Engineer Australia membership or equivalent) or willingness to pursue this qualification
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment whilst also operating independently when required
A commitment to workplace safety and a proactive approach to hazard identification and risk management
Essential Requirements
Current Driver Licence.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to workplace safety.
Excellent communication skills.
Construction White Card.
Highly Regarded
Experience with construction hoists, tower cranes or industrial lifting equipment.
Mechanical aptitude
Experience in commercial or industrial construction projects
Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) or other digital construction technologies
