REMUNERATION
$34.17 per hour base rate, equivalent to guaranteed annual base earnings of $67,519.92.
The position is rostered for 152 ordinary hours over each four-week cycle. Applicable penalty rates, overtime, allowances and 12% superannuation are paid separately.
Award classification: Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020 – Level A Manager, Level 7.
ABOUT US
Darwin Services Club is a busy, community-focused licensed club operating from historic Admiralty House on the Darwin Esplanade.
The Club provides bar and bistro dining, gaming machines, Keno, TAB, functions, entertainment and member activities.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Duty Manager to take operational control of the venue during rostered shifts.
You will lead the food and beverage, gaming and functions teams while maintaining strong customer-service, compliance, security and financial controls.
This is an operational management role requiring regular night, weekend and public-holiday work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily operations across the bar, bistro, gaming room, Keno, TAB and functions.
Act as the senior manager on duty and provide clear direction to employees.
Allocate duties and supervise, train and support the service team.
Assist with rostering, staff development, performance management and workforce planning.
Maintain compliance with liquor, gaming, responsible gambling, food safety and work health and safety requirements.
Manage opening and closing procedures, venue security, keys and restricted areas.
Oversee tills, floats, safe balances, gaming transactions, reconciliations and shift handovers.
Ensure responsible-gambling and harm-minimisation procedures are followed.
Resolve customer concerns and manage behavioural, security and operational incidents.
Coordinate functions, entertainment and promotional activities during rostered shifts.
Monitor stock, venue presentation, cleanliness, equipment and maintenance requirements.
Prepare accurate shift, incident and management reports.
Implement Club policies, procedures and service improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants should meet one of the following:
Hold a relevant AQF Diploma-level qualification, or equivalent, with at least one year of relevant full-time-equivalent experience; or
Have at least three years of relevant full-time-equivalent experience in licensed-club, hotel or hospitality management.
Applicants must also demonstrate:
Experience supervising employees in a busy licensed hospitality environment.
Sound knowledge of licensed-venue and gaming operations.
Strong cash-control, reconciliation and venue-security capabilities.
Effective leadership, customer-service and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong written communication and operational reporting skills.
Availability to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
LICENCES AND REQUIREMENTS
Current NT Responsible Service of Alcohol certification.
Current Responsible Service of Gambling training, or willingness to complete it.
Current NT Gaming Machine Manager licence preferred, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
Ability to satisfy all applicable licensing, probity and right-to-work requirements.

Sponsorship will be assessed individually and is subject to the Club obtaining the necessary approvals and the applicant satisfying all occupational, experience, qualification, licensing, English-language and visa requirements. Sponsorship is not guaranteed.
