Internal Broker / Broking Support Specialist

Bresland Insurance & Risk Specialists is a growing Corporate Authorised Representative of Insurance Advisernet, providing strategic insurance and risk advice to SME, rural and commercial clients throughout Western Australia.

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Internal Broker / Broking Support Specialist to join our expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with insurance broking experience who enjoys the technical side of insurance and wants to build their knowledge across commercial broking, underwriting and claims. Working closely with our Director, Office Manager and Claims Manager, you'll become an integral part of a collaborative team that prides itself on delivering exceptional service and advice.

About the Role

This is a varied role that provides exposure to all aspects of commercial insurance broking. You'll provide technical and administrative support to our broking and claims teams, helping ensure our clients receive accurate, efficient and proactive service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare renewal reports, pre-renewal documentation and client correspondence

• Obtain, review and compare quotations from insurers

• Process renewals, endorsements, cancellations and new business

• Conduct policy checking to ensure documentation is accurate and compliant

• Prepare insurer submissions, declarations and supporting documentation

• Liaise with insurers regarding policy terms, underwriting requirements and outstanding information

• Assist with premium funding, debtors and general policy administration

• Maintain renewal registers, spreadsheets and internal workflow systems

• Support the Director and Office Manager with technical broking, compliance and day-to-day brokerage operations

Working alongside our Claims Manager, you'll assist with:

• Lodging commercial and domestic insurance claims

• Liaising with insurers, assessors, repairers and third parties

• Monitoring claim progress and following up outstanding information

• Preparing claims correspondence and maintaining accurate claim records

• Assisting with claim settlements and administrative follow-up

• Helping ensure claims are managed proactively and efficiently from lodgement through to settlement

Skills & Experience

• Minimum two years' experience in an insurance brokerage or underwriting environment

• Experience with commercial insurance products such as Business Pack, Liability, Commercial Motor, ISR, Farm and Crop Insurance is desirable

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

• Tier 2 qualification (essential)

• Tier 1 qualification (preferred)

• Diploma of Insurance highly regarded

• Experience using broking systems such as Insight, WinBEAT or similar will be highly regarded

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
