Your Venue - Monster Kitchen and Bar 

Monster Kitchen and Bar has a deep respect for locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, landing an exciting set of fresh ideas with conscious consumption at the forefront. Monster Bar offers an elevated cocktail experience created with modern techniques using a selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables, ever-changing to highlight the season. Implementing our very own twist on the most iconic cocktails you’d only find in the best hotel bars.

The Gig

You will not only design, create, and implement all things cocktails, but you will lead the bar team to ensure we are providing the ultimate experience to our guests! You will work closely with the F&B General Manager to establish smooth running of operational requirements. This is a HIGA Full-Time role operating on a 7-day rotating roster. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Run day-to-day bar operations, ensuring shifts are appropriately staffed and effectively managed

• Oversee Bar operations in a way that maximises efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery, in line with Ovolo standards and procedures

• Design and deliver effective on- and off-the-job training initiatives regularly in line with identified training needs, so that the team is familiar with all products and services, including full knowledge of menus and wine lists, service standards and procedures

• Have a high standard of operations, procedures and service 

• Devise comprehensive and user-friendly standards and procedures for beverage operations and communicate effectively across the team

• Monitor service standards and procedures followed by team members and act where standards are not achieved, including informal and formal performance management processes

• Control billing procedures, floats and cashing up and take full responsibility for the cash and payment handling procedures

• Oversee selection and purchase of beverages and ensure regular stock takes of beverages and achievement of budgeted cost of sales

• Establish and customize service level standards

• Develop and maintain supplier relationships

• Minimise beverage complaints and ensure guests are put first

• Proactively drive team morale and promote a productive and enjoyable team culture and environment

As our Bar Supervisor, you will take full ownership of the bar rather than simply supervise a shift. We are looking for an experienced bar professional (minimum experience 3 years) who is accountable, organised, and hands-on, with strong attention to cleanliness, presentation, and service standards.

• The successful candidate must be confident in managing stock, preparing and coordinating orders, maintaining the bar, supporting and training the team, and ensuring everything is properly organised and ready for service.be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. 
• We are looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates effectively, supports the team, and is comfortable being accountable for their area while maintaining the high standards we expect.
