About the role
Not-for-profit organisation | Purpose and values-led leadership
Nudge Foundation supports individuals to start their careers and helps employers create inclusive workplaces that sustain employment. Through personalised advice and tailored support, we make traineeships, apprenticeships and graduate pathways work, guided by our CARE values: Collaboration, Authenticity, Respect and Empowerment.
We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the next chapter of Nudge. Working closely with our predominantly First Nations workforce, employers, training organisations, families and communities, this role requires strategic leadership, cultural humility, strong governance and operational capability. The successful candidate will lead in a culturally safe, accountable and respectful way that recognises First Nations knowledge, leadership and self-determination.
About the role
Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director will lead strategy, operations, governance, workforce development, financial sustainability and stakeholder engagement, ensuring meaningful outcomes for employers, trainees, apprentices and graduates.
This role suits a hands-on leader who can operate effectively across strategic planning, operational delivery, staff leadership, stakeholder relationships and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
Lead organisational strategy and service delivery across metropolitan and regional Western Australia.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with staff, employers, training organisations, funders, government, community partners and the Board.
Ensure strong governance, compliance, risk management and ethical decision-making.
Strengthen financial sustainability through sound budgeting, funding stewardship, grant management and commercial engagement.
Foster a capable, culturally safe and engaged workforce, supporting leadership development, wellbeing and succession planning.
What you will bring
You will demonstrate the following competencies:
Strategic leadership aligned to organisational purpose and sustainability.
Commitment to cultural safety and respectful engagement with First Nations people and communities.
Strong financial, commercial and funding acumen.
Proven people leadership, developing capable and engaged teams.
Ability to build partnerships and influence across community, industry, government, funders and boards.
Experience in governance, risk and compliance.
A track record of delivering quality services and measurable outcomes.
Clear, credible and respectful communication.
You will bring senior leadership experience from the not-for-profit, training, social services, local government, philanthropic or civil construction sectors. Strong governance, financial and people leadership skills, coupled with the ability to lead a small organisation, are essential.
This is a full-time Perth-based role with occasional travel within Western Australia.
Why join Nudge?
Lead a purpose-driven organisation with strong community and industry connections.
Work alongside a committed Board, staff team and partners.
Shape strategy, strengthen organisational capability and support culturally safe practices.
Make a meaningful contribution to sustainable employment outcomes.
Access salary packaging benefits in accordance with relevant legislation.

Please submit your resume and a brief (maximum 2 pages) cover letter outlining your interest in the role and your experience against the competencies of the role.
