Senior Accountant | Client Manager

You've done the hard yards as a senior accountant, and you're already operating close to client manager level. What you haven't found yet is a firm that actually backs that up with a real path forward, not vague promises that never materialise.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Minimum 7 years' experience in business services and tax accounting

• CPA or CA qualified

• Existing experience at junior client manager level, or very close to it, with genuine client-facing, advisory and team management experience already under your belt

THE OPPORTUNITY

You'll step into managing a portfolio of quality small business clients within 6 to 12 months. This isn't a purely reviewing-and-meetings role, you'll still be hands-on with compliance work yourself, especially early on, while building toward full oversight of what our Philippines-based team delivers. The core of the role:

• Running client meetings, including AGMs and tax planning strategy sessions

• Keeping client communication strong and consistent year-round, not just at meeting time

• Delivering all of the compliance work for your portfolio end to end, working with and reviewing what our Philippines-based team processes, and doing hands-on technical work yourself where needed

• Advisory conversations covering strategy, structure, cash flow and tax planning

• Building long-term client relationships, not transactional ones

• Training and leading our Philippines-based team and junior staff here in Brisbane, with leadership becoming a bigger part of the role as you step into Client Manager

Our Philippines team handles the bulk of the processing and compliance work at a high standard. You'll work alongside them, reviewing and directing their output, staying hands-on with the more technical or complex pieces yourself, and being the face the client actually deals with.

• A senior accountant already operating at, or very close to, junior client manager level

• Someone who genuinely enjoys being with clients in person, over coffee, at networking events, on the phone, not just in their inbox

• Already confident leading advisory conversations, with real experience to back it up

• Experienced at training and leading people, whether an offshore team, junior staff, or both

• Commercially minded — you want to build something of your own, not just do the work

• A strong communicator who can simplify complex advice for business owners

• Motivated by more than money — real trust, autonomy and the chance to build something matters as much to you as the pay packet

• Looking for one firm to build a long-term career with, not another line on your resume in eighteen months

THIS ISN'T THE RIGHT FIT IF YOU'RE

• Still building toward client-facing or leadership experience rather than already holding it

• Looking for a purely technical role with no client-facing or leadership component

• Most comfortable behind a screen, working through email rather than picking up the phone or getting face to face with clients

• Not interested in training, mentoring or managing other people's work

• Chasing your next role change in a year or two rather than building something long-term

• Most comfortable in a big-firm structure with layers of sign-off and process for its own sake

• Someone who wants the compliance work done for you rather than reviewed and owned by you

• Not yet ready to take ownership of client outcomes, including the ones that go wrong

• Someone who needs close oversight or a clock-in clock-out structure to stay accountable

WHAT YOU'LL GET

• $100,000 – $120,000 + super + bonus, depending on experience
