About the Role

For the first time, Monash Health is recruiting to this influential Operations Manager position—an exceptional opportunity to lead services at the heart of our Care, reimagined 2026–2031 strategy.

You will bring this ambition to life by strengthening renal care delivered in patients’ homes and communities, giving people greater choice, independence and confidence in managing their health.

Reporting to the Operations Director/Director of Nursing, Community Hospitals, you will provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio, with 14 direct reports.

Your portfolio will include:

• Home haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis training
• Kidney and kidney-pancreas transplant services
• Dialysis and renal access coordinators
• Dialysis technical services
• The Big Red Kidney Bus

Your Leadership Impact

This is more than an operational management role. You will set the direction, culture and expectations across highly specialised services while supporting your teams to deliver safe, responsive and person-centred care.

You will:

• Lead, inspire and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams
• Build a positive, accountable and engaged workplace culture
• Drive contemporary models of care that improve access and patient experience
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, retention and succession planning
• Maintain strong clinical governance, quality, safety and accreditation standards
• Lead financial performance, budget planning and resource allocation
• Identify opportunities for innovation, new services and sustainable funding
• Manage organisational change and complex operational priorities
• Build trusted relationships with patients, clinicians and external partners
• Translate Monash Health’s strategy into measurable service outcomes

You will also represent Monash Health on relevant internal and external forums and participate in the organisational on-call roster.

About You

You are a strategic and accomplished nursing leader who knows how to bring people, performance and clinical excellence together.

Approachable and authentic, you build trust while confidently setting expectations, navigating complex issues and making difficult decisions when required. You understand that exceptional services are built through strong teams, sound governance and a culture where people feel valued and accountable.

You will bring:

• Senior leadership experience within a large, complex health service
• Demonstrated success leading people, performance and organisational change
• Strong financial, workforce and clinical governance capability
• Experience driving quality, safety and service improvement
• The ability to influence, negotiate and resolve complex issues
• A commitment to innovation and expanding care beyond the hospital
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Tertiary qualifications in nursing and current AHPRA registration
• A relevant master’s qualification, or progress towards one, is desirable
• Nephrology or dialysis experience is highly desirable
• A current Victorian driver’s licence and capacity to work across sites
