Trade Assistant

Grydale is an Australian based Original Equipment Manufacturer of an internationally patented range of fixed and mobile industrial dust collection equipment. Equipment is manufactured in two facilities in Brendale, QLD. The company also has site service technicians and offices in Sydney and have teams in the UK, Canada and USA. 

Grydale are looking to appoint a Trade Assistant on our day shift which runs from 6am to 2:30pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 12pm Friday, to support growing demand for their products and services worldwide. Sandblasters will primarily be based within their two facilities in Brendale, QLD.

Position Description

Main Duties: 

• Assisting Painters by preparing parts for painting (blasting).
• Stripping (screwing and bolting) and cleaning used componentry.
• Assembly of componentry on machines using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Assisting Boilermakers with grinding/finishing of welded components.
• Assisting Fitters with fitment of Hydraulic/Pneumatic componentry.
• Liaising with stores/purchasing on components to be used.
• Transporting tools, materials and work pieces to and from sites or workbenches.
• General housekeeping, delivery and yard duties.

Other Duties

• Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.
• Manage Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and environmental hazards and off site when required.
• Clean and prepare working areas.
• Conduct general workshop/yard cleanliness, tidiness and litter management.

Person Specification

Qualifications 

• Forklift Licence
• Valid Driving Licence

Experience

• 1 years previous experience in a similar role/industry.

Knowledge

• Trade qualifications are not a prerequisite, however some exposure to fabricating, machining or related trade would be desirable.
