About Youth Justice

Youth Justice provides community-based supervision and case management services for young people who are appearing before, or have been sentenced by, the Children's Court, Koori Court and adult criminal courts and who have been placed on Youth Justice supervised orders, including supervised bail. Youth Justice promotes the rehabilitation of young people involved in offending, with the aim of reducing crime in the community. 

About the role

The Team Manager, Enhanced Bail Supervision and Support Service (EBSS) will play a critical role in supporting young people to get their lives back on track. The role is responsible for: 

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the EBSS service, including providing professional leadership and practice direction in risk management of young people subject to EBSS.
• Provide advanced assessment, secondary consultation and expert advice to staff and colleagues in the management of EBSS clients, including those with the most complex needs.
• Provide direct supervision and line management to a team of EBSS Practice Leads, ensuring role accountability, professional development and staff wellbeing are managed.

This role has oversight over a case support service delivered by staff working outside of usual business hours. The incumbent will be required to work flexible hours of work, particularly within the ordinary span of hours of 7am to 7pm, including an ‘on call' roster afterhours.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will demonstrate:

• experience in and passion for managing teams and resources ensuring smooth delivery of services and organisational change
• a thorough understanding of the Youth Justice System, particularly the principles and philosophy underpinning relevant legislation and the Victorian Youth Justice program
• excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively build relationships with people at all levels
• proven written communication skills and an ability to plan and provide strategically appropriate recommendations to various stakeholders.
