CRANE TRUCK OPERATOR

About the role

CFT Logistics and Transport Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Crane Truck Operator to join our dynamic team based in Maroochydore, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our road transport and logistics operations. As a Crane Truck Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating crane trucks to load, unload, and transport goods across various sites. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for reliable and professional service delivery to our clients, and you will be a key member of our transport team.

Key responsibilities

• Operating crane trucks safely and efficiently in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations and company policies

• Loading and unloading cargo using the crane equipment, ensuring goods are secured and transported safely

• Performing pre-operation and post-operation inspections on crane trucks to identify and report maintenance issues

• Maintaining accurate records of loads, delivery times and any incidents or damage that may occur

• Communicating effectively with site supervisors, customers and team members to ensure smooth operations

• Following all health and safety protocols and assisting in maintaining a safe work environment

• Transporting goods to designated locations in a timely manner whilst adhering to all traffic laws and company procedures

• Assisting with general yard duties and equipment maintenance as required

What we're looking for

• Current Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence with a clean driving record

• Valid crane operator certification or ticket (or willingness to obtain one)

• Proven experience operating crane trucks in a logistics or transport environment

• Strong knowledge of load securing techniques and safe handling procedures

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately

• Physical fitness to perform manual handling duties

• A commitment to health and safety in all operations

• Reliability and punctuality

• Preferred experience: General heavy vehicle maintenance knowledge and experience in the road transport industry
