Disability Support Worker

Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team at Our Shining Stars. In this role, you will provide individualised support to people with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care including showering, dressing, toileting, and mobility support

• Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and laundry

• Support participants in accessing the community (e.g., shopping, appointments, activities)

• Promote independence, skill development, and social inclusion

• Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments

• Document accurate and timely progress notes after each shift

• Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and team members

Key Requirements:

• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)

• First Aid and CPR certificate (current)

• Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle with insurance

• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module

• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and overnights if required

• Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or similar

• Previous experience in disability support
