Venue Manager

About the role

As Venue Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and successful operation of the venue, with a strong focus on hospitality, customer service, team leadership and operational standards. This is a key leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working with people, and creating a welcoming and professional experience for members, guests and visitors. You'll take ownership of venue operations while supporting and developing a strong hospitality team.

Key responsibilities

• Leading, supporting and motivating the hospitality team

• Overseeing daily bar, dining, function and venue operations

• Delivering a consistently high standard of customer service

• Recruiting, training, rostering and developing staff

• Managing labour costs and assisting with budgets and financial performance

• Maintaining stock levels, ordering and stock control

• Coordinating functions, events and busy service periods

• Ensuring compliance with RSA, food safety, workplace health and safety, and relevant licensing requirements

• Maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness throughout the venue

• Working closely with management and other departments to ensure seamless operations

About you

• Previous experience in a Venue Manager, Hospitality Manager, Food & Beverage Manager or similar leadership role

• Strong people-management and communication skills

• Excellent customer service standards

• Experience managing rosters, labour and operational costs

• Sound knowledge of bar and food service operations

• Experience with large functions and events

• The ability to remain calm and make good decisions in a busy environment

• Current Approved Manager and relevant hospitality certifications

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and functions as required
