Intertek is a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide. Our Minerals business supports some of Australia's largest mining and resources companies through a network of commercial laboratories, mine site laboratories and technical services across Australia and Papua New Guinea.

We're looking for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our Minerals HR team, based in Townsville. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with operational leaders across Queensland, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Papua New Guinea, providing practical HR advice that genuinely influences business outcomes.

This is far more than a traditional HR Advisor role. You'll work alongside experienced HR professionals and senior operational leaders, managing a diverse portfolio across laboratory, technical and mining environments while building your capability across the full employee lifecycle.

About the Role

Reporting to the HR Manager – Minerals Australasia, you'll partner closely with managers to deliver practical and commercially focused HR solutions across a broad range of activities, including:

• Employee and industrial relations advice

• Performance management and workplace investigations

• Recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning

• Award and employment legislation interpretation

• Organisational change and restructuring

• Policy development and compliance

• Leadership coaching and support

• HR reporting and people analytics

• Learning and development initiatives

• Supporting HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

You'll enjoy a high level of autonomy while working as part of a collaborative national HR team.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys building relationships with operational leaders and finding practical solutions to complex people matters.

Ideally you'll bring:

• Experience in a generalist Human Resources Advisory role

• Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation

• Experience managing employee relations and performance matters

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (preferred)

Experience supporting mining, laboratory, manufacturing, industrial or other operational businesses will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
