Construction Trades Assistants

About Us

AKJ Services is a local Darwin construction company with ongoing projects across civil, commercial and residential sectors. We are seeking reliable and hardworking Trade Assistants to support our construction teams on various projects throughout the Darwin region.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with daily construction activities.

• Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely.

• Assist with formwork and basic concreting works.

• Measure and set out works using laser equipment.

• Read and interpret basic construction plans.

• Maintain a clean and safe worksite.

• Assist with loading, unloading and material handling.

• Carry out general site duties as required.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience as a Trade Assistant or in the construction industry preferred.

• Good understanding of construction tools and equipment including:

  • Grinders

  • Drills

  • Lasers

  • General hand tools

• Ability to read and understand construction plans.

• Experience with basic concreting and formwork.

• Welding experience is highly regarded but not essential.

• Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport.

• Own basic tools preferred.

• Construction White Card.

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
