Teaching Principal Level TP2 - Yeo Park Infants School

Yeo Park Infants School is a unique setting established in 1929, is located on the border of Ashfield and Summer Hill within the expansive, shared community space of Yeo Park. Currently, the school has three classes from Kindergarten to Year Two with overall capacity totaling four classes. Its 47 students represent a broad spectrum of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, enhancing the diversity of our community. Yeo Park Infant School’s 12 staff members are comprised of 6 dynamic, collaborative teachers who deliver and pursue excellence in education and 6 dedicated administrative support staff.

The school’s supportive and nurturing environment enables personalised care and connections ensuring where every child is valued and empowered. High potential and gifted education offerings include embedded extension for all students, specialist music and sport lessons, promoting well-rounded development beyond the classroom. 1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

1. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership that supports teaching staff in delivering high-quality, evidence-based instruction tailored to an infants setting

2. Proven application of emotional intelligence and organisational skills that will enrich a respectful, high performing, collaborative culture aligned with the NSW Plan for Public Education, to effectively fulfill the demanding role of teaching principal

3. Experience in enhancing systems and processes that secure authentic implementation of inclusive education practices, catering to diverse student needs

4. Visible, accessible leadership that builds relationships with staff, parents, caregivers and community stakeholders to ensure the delivery of rich learning and teaching experiences and the holistic development of K-2 students

Classification Structure for Principals:

The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2017 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level TP2 for 2026.
