Steel Scheduler - Reinforcing Steel

About the role

Superb Steel Scheduling Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Scheduler to join our team in a full-time capacity. Based in Five Dock, NSW, this role is pivotal to our operations, ensuring the seamless coordination and scheduling of reinforcing steel deliveries across construction projects across Sydney. As a Steel Scheduler specialising in reinforcing steel, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising the scheduling of steel materials to support project timelines and ensure efficient construction workflows. This position plays a strategic role in maintaining our reputation for reliability and precision in the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Create accurate steel schedules and marking plans for all types of construction projects such as Residential, Commercial and Civil.

• Coordinate with suppliers and customers to ensure timely delivery of steel materials in accordance with project requirements

• Communicate scheduling updates and changes to our suppliers and customers

• Analyse project timelines and construction sequences to determine optimal steel scheduling to minimise delays and maximise efficiency

• Lead a small team of offshore steel schedulers, allocating projects between schedulers and ensuring steel schedules are accurate before sending to suppliers

• Manage scheduling software and maintain accurate records of all steel movements and deliveries

• Communicate effectively between suppliers, customer and offshore steel schedulers

• Identify and resolve mistakes in schedules before they are sent to the supplier for fabrication

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in steel scheduling, preferably specialising in reinforcing steel within the construction industry

• The ability to create accurate and clear steel schedules and marking plans to ensure a smooth experience for the customer and their Steelfixers on site

• Proficiency with scheduling software such as Citrix and aSa

• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with suppliers, customers and other steel schedulers

• Attention to detail and accuracy in their work

• Problem-solving ability and flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements

• Understanding of construction timelines, sequencing, and site logistics

• Proficiency in Bluebeam and AutoCAD

• A relevant qualification in construction, project management, or engineering is advantageous

• 4 years experience as a steel scheduler at another steel reinforcing company
