About the role
The South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service based in Bunbury which provides a variety of health services to Aboriginal people in the South West, Great South, Upper wheatbelt and Peel Regions of Western Australia. SWAMS delivers a wide range of Services including: GP Clinics, Primary Health Care, Counselling, NDIS and community host various programs. SWAMS has a strong growth strategy through partnership opportunities and future community development.
About the role
The Primary Health Manager is responsible for leading the Primary Health team in delivering the highest standards of care to clients across all SWAMS clinics. The role ensures the provision of quality clinical services, facilitates staff development and training, oversees effective client recall systems, and ensures all accreditation, quality, and legislative requirements are met.
The successful candidate will champion culturally appropriate and responsive healthcare, ensuring Aboriginal clients remain at the centre of service design and delivery.
The role oversees the day-to-day operations of Primary Health services at the Bunbury and South West clinics while supporting consistent and high-quality service delivery across the Katanning and Narrogin clinics.
Reporting to the Executive Manager of Aboriginal Health, the Primary Health Manager works collaboratively with the Clinical Operations Manager, Senior Medical Officer, Practice Manager, Outreach Coordinator, and other Managers and Coordinators to ensure integrated service delivery, continuous quality improvement, improved health outcomes for clients, and compliance with funding and contractual obligations.
