 Waminda is seeking a passionate and committed Safe & Strong Families Caseworker to join our Case Management Program. The Safe & Strong Families Caseworker is responsible for delivering high-quality, culturally safe and trauma-informed case management support to Aboriginal children, young people and families. The role focuses on early intervention and prevention, supporting families to strengthen safety, wellbeing, resilience and connection to culture. Working within Waminda’s Model of Care, this role provides person-centred, strengths-based support that promotes cultural safety, empowerment and self-determination. The Safe & Strong Families Caseworker works collaboratively with families, community and partner agencies to address challenges, strengthen protective factors, and create positive outcomes for children and families.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will:

• Case Management & Family Support: deliver wraparound, culturally safe and trauma-informed case management services that support Aboriginal women, children and families to strengthen safety, wellbeing and access to appropriate services
• Assessment, Advocacy & Referrals: work alongside families to complete holistic assessments, identify strengths and needs, develop achievable goals, and provide advocacy and referrals to internal and external supports
• Children & Young People: promote the holistic development of children and young people by supporting their social, emotional, cultural and developmental wellbeing, while nurturing their strengths and potential
• Community Connection & Engagement: strengthen family connections to culture, community and support networks, fostering positive relationships that enhance resilience and belonging
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: maintain accurate case records and contribute to service improvement initiatives while working collaboratively with colleagues, community stakeholders and partner agencies

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated experience providing case management, advocacy and support to Aboriginal children, young people and families
• Strong understanding of early intervention, prevention and family support approaches
• Experience delivering parenting education, practical assistance and in-home or outreach support services
• Ability to build trusting relationships and work effectively with families, community members and service providers
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally safe practice frameworks
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and integrated service delivery models
• Strong written communication skills, including case notes, reports and client documentation
• High-level computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new systems
• Certificate IV or higher in Community Services, Social Work or a related discipline (or willingness to obtain)
• Current NSW Driver Licence
• Current Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Identify as Female of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander decent (An applicant’s gender and race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by section 14(d) and 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977of (NSW))
