Requisition ID: REQ685595
Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist in Neuropathology to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The primary purpose of the role of Staff Specialist in Neuropathology is to provide high quality diagnostic specialty services in Neuropathology and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Neuropathology Department and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as required.
The Staff Specialist will provide services including autopsy neuropathology (Coronial, non-Coronial, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease and brain banking neuropathological examinations), muscle pathology, and other neuropathology services, as well as education, research and administrative support as required by Head of Department.
An appropriately qualified appointee to this position with Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Anatomical or Forensic Pathology may also be granted scope of clinical practice by NSW Health Pathology. The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Pathologists (FRCPA) with recognised qualifications in Anatomical Pathology or Forensic Pathology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Position is currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application, may be considered.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
