Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist in Neurology to join our team.

The primary purpose of the role of Staff Specialist in Neurology is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Neurology, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Neurology Department and Hospital as required.

The Staff Specialist in Neurology will have sound knowledge of neuromuscular disease, clinical neurophysiology, and botulinum toxin therapy and will also be responsible for the care of inpatients who present with general neurological disorders.

The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.

The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Neurology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Position will be available from October 2026. In addition to General Neurology, applicants with sub-specialty interest in Neurophysiology experience highly desirable.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
