The Role
Our Lady of Mercy College Australind is seeking an experienced and passionate educational leader to join our leadership team as Head of Learning Area – Inclusive Education.
This key role will provide strategic and operational leadership across inclusive education, with a focus on ensuring all students can access, participate in and achieve success in their learning. The successful applicant will lead the College’s approach to student support, intervention, personalised learning and transition planning.
The role will work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, College leaders, CEWA consultants, allied health professionals and external agencies to support positive educational outcomes and student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of a whole-school approach to inclusive education
Lead the Inclusive Education Team and build staff capability in inclusive pedagogy, differentiation, disability awareness and reasonable adjustments
Coordinate student support planning, including Individual Education Plans, Personalised Learning Plans, Behaviour Support Plans and Transition Plans
Lead NCCD processes and coordinate Students with Disability funding applications, moderation, audits and reviews
Coordinate learning interventions across areas including literacy, numeracy and executive functioning
Support staff to use assessment and diagnostic data to identify learning needs and evaluate student progress
Coordinate reasonable adjustments and disability provisions for assessments, NAPLAN, OLNA and SCSA requirements
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, CEWA policies and educational requirements
Lead transition planning for students with disability and additional learning needs, including post-school pathways
Build strong partnerships with families, allied health professionals and external agencies
Provide strategic advice to the Principal and Executive Team on inclusive education, accessibility, intervention and student achievement.
