Sales assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join the team at Clark Rubber Tweed heads. This is a casual position based in Tweed Heads NSW 2485. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales across our retail environment. You will be the face of our brand, helping customers find what they need whilst creating a welcoming and engaging shopping experience that keeps them coming back.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting customers warmly and assisting them in finding products that meet their needs

• Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale systems

• Maintaining product knowledge to provide informed recommendations and answer customer enquiries

• Stocking shelves and displays, ensuring merchandise is organised, well-presented and clearly priced

• Handling customer queries and complaints professionally, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction

• Keeping the sales floor clean, tidy and compliant with health and safety standards

• Supporting promotional activities and participating in visual merchandising initiatives

• Working collaboratively with team members to achieve sales targets and store objectives

• Following company policies and procedures, including cash handling protocols and loss prevention measures

What we're looking for

• Strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping others

• Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to build rapport with diverse customers

• A positive attitude, reliability and punctuality, even in a casual capacity

• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and cash

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if required

• Prior retail or customer-facing experience is advantageous but not essential for enthusiastic candidates

• Willingness to learn about products and company policies
