Accountant – Manufacturing & Construction

About the role

Based in Albury, you will have a primary focus on the financial operations of our manufacturing business while supporting a diverse group of manufacturing and construction operations across multiple regional locations, including Albury, Wagga Wagga and Young. Working closely with ownership and operational leaders, you will provide accurate and timely financial information, help strengthen financial processes and controls, and provide commercial insight to support better business decisions. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being close to the business rather than simply sitting behind spreadsheets.

Key responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day accounting functions across the business

• Payroll

• Preparing accurate and timely financial reporting, including management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow information

• Supporting month-end and year-end reporting processes

• Preparing and maintaining account reconciliations

• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis

• Providing financial information and commercial insights to ownership and operational leaders

• Supporting financial controls and maintaining the integrity of financial data

• Assisting with cash flow and working capital management

• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting

• Assisting with statutory and compliance requirements as required

About you

We are looking for a commercially minded Accountant who is hands-on, organised and keen to make a genuine contribution.

You may be an emerging Accountant ready to step into a broader commercial role, or an experienced 2IC looking for greater responsibility and exposure to the wider business.

• Experience in public practice or a commercial accounting environment

• Strong accounting fundamentals and a sound understanding of financial reporting

• Accounting qualifications completed or currently being undertaken

• CA, CPA or equivalent qualification will be highly regarded

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

• A practical, solutions-focused approach

• The ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
