Graduate Software Enginer (Hybrid, Entry-Level)

Role Description The Graduate Software Engineer (Hybrid, Entry-Level) will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions that support AI-focused startup initiatives within IEC. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing back-end services, writing clean and efficient code, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, assisting with integration of AI models into applications, and documenting technical specifications and workflows. This is a part-time, entry-level hybrid role based in Sydney, NSW, where team members work both on-site and remotely, depending on project needs.QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.Practical experience or academic exposure to Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript).Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their application in building modular, maintainable code.Currently completing or recently completed a relevant degree (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or related field).Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, manage time independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Interest in AI, startups, and entrepreneurial environments; prior project or internship experience in related areas is an advantage.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks.
