Bookkeeper

About the role

CBG Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our team in Mackay, QLD. This is a full-time position based in our office location. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our clients' businesses by managing day-to-day accounting operations. This position is essential to supporting our clients' financial success and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing

• Recording and categorising financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner

• Reconciling bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies

• Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions

• Preparing financial reports and statements for clients and management review

• Maintaining general ledgers and ensuring all entries are properly documented

• Managing invoicing and billing processes for clients

• Assisting with payroll processing and tax compliance matters

• Liaising with clients to gather necessary financial documentation and information

• Identifying and resolving financial inconsistencies and errors

What we're looking for

• Relevant bookkeeping qualifications, or demonstrated equivalent experience in a bookkeeping role

• Proficiency in bookkeeping software and accounting systems, with experience in cloud-based platforms such as Xero or MYOB being advantageous

• Excellent attention to detail with an ability to maintain accuracy when working with financial data

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and other office administration software

• Sound understanding of GST, PAYG and other Australian tax obligations

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts

• Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards in handling sensitive financial information
