Grain Broker / Advisor

CloudBreak Grain Marketing is South Australia & Victoria's premier grain brokerage and advisory service offering growers a comprehensive package of grain marketing solutions. Based in the Adelaide Hills, CloudBreak growers span from the South Australian Eyre Peninsula, right through to the Wimmera in Victoria. CloudBreak was established in 2008 and is now a rapidly growing independent agribusiness with a focus on helping grain growers improve their bottom line.

We have an exciting Grain Broker/Advisor opportunity for a person who has strong communication skills, a high level of enthusiasm and a passion to learn. This role would suit someone who has either had experience in business, agronomy or is just starting out in the agribusiness industry.

While basic knowledge of grain or commodity markets is helpful, full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

This position is all about advising and assisting grain growers to maximise their grain returns through innovative strategies, effective risk management, and deep market analysis. Translating global insights into practical local outcomes via education, and direct support.

Your responsibilities within this role would include;

• Researching grain markets and their trends. Better information is tied to better grain marketing decisions.

• Providing sound grain marketing advice and insights to your grower client base for better grain sales.

• Alongside this, physical grain brokerage and contract execution is also a significant part of the role.

• Educating growers, ensuring farmers grasp market fundamentals, strategies and available grain marketing tools.

• Building relationships with key stakeholders (Exporters, Bulk Handlers, Logistics)

• This position will also enable you to travel to expand CloudBreak's existing clientele, as well as participate in workshops and field days.

• Further progression into a risk management type role is available for those who are interested in commodity/financial trading.

As a Grain Trader/Advisor you will need to:

• Analyse market fundamentals and trends to draw conclusions and provide grain marketing advice to clients

• Understand and operate within the Australian commodities marketplace

• Develop a sound understanding of fundamental supply and demand drivers

• Grasp risk management concepts and supply chain dynamics

• Maintain a client base.

• Assist with report writing

• Participate in workshops and field days

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following attributes:

• Proficiency in Excel and the entire Microsoft suite

• Have a strong work ethic, with the ability to manage time wisely

• Be able to research, analyse and draw conclusions from relevant information

• Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
