Chief Executive Officer - LocalKind Northern Beaches

• Full-time 38 hours/5 days per week
• SCHADS Award SACS Level 8 ($135K to $140K per annum) plus superannuation

The Opportunity

LocalKind is a trusted community organisation supporting people across the Northern Beaches.

Services include domestic and family violence support, homelessness outreach, financial hardship assistance, family, child and youth programs, migrant and refugee settlement support, and community hubs.

A practical and values-led Chief Executive Officer is sought to lead the small team at LocalKind through its next chapter.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in a small community organisation. Key areas include staff and volunteer leadership, financial oversight, income generation, stakeholder relationships, media and event spokesperson, service quality, governance and organisational development.

A central focus will be building trust and stability, developing the existing team, strengthening financial and organisational sustainability, and deepening LocalKind’s impact across the Northern Beaches.

About the Person

Applicants may already be working as a CEO or may be senior community-sector leaders ready to step into a first CEO role.

Relevant experience will include:

• senior leadership in a small community, not-for-profit or similarly purpose-led organisation
• strategic and operational leadership across competing priorities and limited resources
• developing leaders and teams and building organisational trust
• financial oversight and use of financial information in decision-making
• income generation through government funding, fundraising, philanthropy, donors or partnerships
• effective relationships with Boards, government, funders and community stakeholders
• knowledge of governance, risk, compliance and safeguarding
• alignment with LocalKind’s values of Kindness, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion and Connection

Experience in comparable community services will be highly regarded.

This is a full-time role based predominantly onsite on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Some flexibility may be available, subject to organisational needs and senior leadership coverage.

The role is classified at SCHADS Award SACS Level 8 plus superannuation, with salary packaging available.
