Chef (Full Time)

About the Role

Luna n Soul is looking for a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards and supporting the efficient daily operation of the kitchen.

Hours: 38 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and standards.
• Plan menus and assist in developing new dishes.
• Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation.
• Manage stock levels and order kitchen supplies.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff when required.
• Coordinate with management and front-of-house staff.
• Minimise food waste and control kitchen costs.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant must have:

• A relevant commercial cookery qualification, such as Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least two years of relevant work experience as a Chef.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• A good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• The ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
