About the role
This position is identified and is open only to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational requirement for this role under Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.
This is a temporary full-time appointment until 20 July 2027, with the possibility of further term extension and/or permanency, based at our Broome Campus.

Relocation allowance between the ranges of $6,500 and $8,500 depending on locality, if relocating from another region within Western Australia.
Subsidised Housing with rent from $264 - $532 weekly depending on the category of the property (subject to availability and eligibility).
District Allowance from $7,436 - $18,898 per annum.
Generous travel subsidy from $1,885 for yourself and your dependents plus additional travelling time each year, after your first year of service
Air-conditioning subsidy to offset a proportion of your power bills during applicable months.
Five weeks paid leave and the option to accrue an additional two weeks leave each year by working a 39-hour week.

About the role
We are seeking a Jobs and Skills Employment and Training Coordinator.
The Jobs and Skills Centre (JSC) is a free service offering career, training and employment assistance as well as partnerships with industry. The Centre is a one-stop-shop for anyone looking to improve their skills and job prospects – including students, jobseekers and career changers. It will provide a culturally responsive service to Aboriginal people. The JSC will also engage with the local community and industry to help build local prosperity.
The Jobs and Skills Employment and Training Coordinator works with industry and employers to implement strategies and assist them to develop their workforce through recruitment, retention and skills development, whilst also providing assistance and support to individuals looking for career and employment opportunities.
The Jobs and Skills Employment and Training Coordinator provides advice to the TAFE on current and emerging skills needs of industry and business. The coordinator encourages employers to provide apprenticeship/traineeship and other work opportunities to jobseekers and graduates.
We are looking for people who are self-driven relationship builders with a passion for supporting individuals, strengthening communities, and creating meaningful employment and training opportunities.
