The successful candidate will support the senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and service delivery while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for assisting with kitchen operations, preparing ingredients, supporting cooking processes, and ensuring smooth workflow during busy service periods. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting senior chefs with daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and service delivery. Duties will include preparing ingredients through washing, cutting, portioning, and general preparation tasks; assisting with cooking, plating, and presenting dishes according to menu standards; maintaining consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation; following recipes, preparation methods, and kitchen procedures; maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and equipment; ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements; assisting with stock rotation, storage management, and minimising food wastage; and supporting the kitchen team during busy breakfast, lunch, and dinner services to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Qualification & experience

The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen role. A Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or a higher qualification in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery, is preferred. The ideal applicant will have sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, food safety and hygiene standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.

They should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, communicate effectively, work collaboratively within a team, and be flexible to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
