About the Role

St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is seeking applications for a 0.8 EFT Neurophysiology Fellow to join the Department of Clinical Neurosciences.

This fellowship provides advanced supervised training in clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders. The successful applicant will develop expertise in the performance, interpretation and reporting of a broad range of neurophysiology investigations while contributing to specialist outpatient services, teaching, research and quality improvement activities.

The Fellow will have the opportunity to gain experience in:

• Inpatient and outpatient neurophysiology services.
• Electromyography and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCS).
• Single fibre EMG (SFEMG).
• Small fibre and autonomic studies, including QSART.
• Evoked potential studies.
• Weekly neuromuscular outpatient and clinical trials clinics.
• Departmental teaching, multidisciplinary meetings and research activities.

Classification for this position is HM25-HM30 ($129,048.40 - $177,622.12 

per annum, pro rata).

This is a part-time (0.8 EFT), fixed-term position from February 2027 to February 2028.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

• Registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• A basic medical degree.
• Indemnity with a recognised medical defence organisation.
• Compliance with the RACP Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program.

About the Department

The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is a multidisciplinary service dedicated to improving the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. The department provides comprehensive specialist clinical services together with nationally and internationally recognised research and education programs across a range of neurological subspecialties.
