About the role
We are dedicated to providing high-quality support services for individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled Disability Support Workers to join our team.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of individuals with complex disabilities. Your primary responsibility is to provide specialised care and support to meet their needs, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence.
The role will involve:
Being responsible for supporting and assisting individuals with disabilities in their living environment;
Provide quality in home/community access and/or centre based care and support, incorporating integration and participation on social, recreational and educational activities;
Carrying out designated tasks and activities aimed at meeting the participant's goals;
Supporting a participant with manual handling, personal care including showering and domestic assistance; and
Being flexible in the hours that you are willing to work as we support people 24 hours a day, every day. Including overnight shifts.
You should hold or be willing to obtain:
A Blue Card for working with children,
A NDIS Worker Screening or Yellow Card - Disability
A current Queensland driver's license and reliable vehicle to transport clients (where required)
A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 or equivalent) & CPR
The following traits will be highly considered:
Physical fitness to perform manual handling, domestic assistance and to participate in activities with participants,
Knowledge of Person Centered Practice,
Experience in the disability sector,
Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively within a team,
Ability to prioritise workload and respond to an emergency,
A positive attitude and the ability to multi-task.
