About the role

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement) provides strategic leadership to advance Indigenous education, research and engagement across the University of Technology Sydney. Through collaboration with faculties and professional units, the Office is committed to embedding knowledge of Indigenous contexts, perspectives and ways of knowing throughout the student experience, supporting UTS' vision of excellence, social justice and meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The Indigenous Teaching and Learning Team (ITLT) leads the implementation of the Indigenous Graduate Attribute (IGA), working collaboratively across the university to support curriculum transformation, build academic capability and embed culturally responsive teaching and learning practices aligned with the Indigenous Education and Research Strategy (IERS).

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, Curriculum Design to support the implementation of the Indigenous Graduate Attribute (IGA) Curriculum Framework across UTS.

Working within the Indigenous Teaching and Learning Team, you will partner with faculties to design, map and develop Indigenous Graduate Attribute content and assessment across courses. You will contribute to curriculum design, educational resources, workshops and scholarship activities that strengthen Indigenous teaching and learning across the University. At Level C, you will also provide leadership in curriculum innovation, educational initiatives and mentoring colleagues.

This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified position. In accordance with the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW), applications are invited from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples only.

About You

You are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander academic or education professional with experience in higher education curriculum design and a passion for embedding Indigenous content and perspectives into teaching and learning.

As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, you bring strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, experience working collaboratively across disciplines, and a commitment to culturally responsive education. You will demonstrate an emerging (Level B) or established (Level C) record of educational leadership and scholarship, with the ability to influence curriculum development and drive meaningful change across the University.

Other requirements include:

A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and professional experience (Level B). A doctoral qualification or equivalent standing is required for Level C.
Experience in curriculum design, course development and implementation within higher education.
Knowledge of Indigenous higher education and contemporary approaches to curriculum, teaching and learning.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
For Level C, demonstrated leadership in curriculum innovation, mentoring colleagues and leading educational change initiatives.
For Level C, an established record of scholarship, research and/or educational leadership in Indigenous higher education, curriculum development or a related field.

Role Eligibility

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $127,119 to $150,453 pa (Level B) / $154,529 to $177,464 pa (Level C) plus 17% superannuation (pension).

The position is full-time and will be made on a continuing basis.

UTS supports flexible ways of working. This position may be offered on a remote employment arrangement for the successful candidate, with an expectation of attending the UTS campus for a minimum of four visits per year, typically for two to three days at a time, to support collaboration, planning and key University activities.
