Cafe Chef

Join our dynamic team at The Green Cafe where you'll have the opportunity to be an integral part of our kitchen team.

This role is starting as a part time position ideally 3 days per week and has the potential to grow into a full time role as our operations grow in the next 3-4 months. 

About us:

A modern and vibrant cafe, that has opened in a brand new building at Toongabbie point, in the heart of Toongabbie We are offering top quality specialty coffee, freshly made breakfast lunch and brunch menu, house-made cakes and meals aiming for clean, fresh and flavoursome meals.

The cafe has created an amazing following the last year and is now open Friday nights with a Greek inspired menu and a great response from the community.

What are we looking for 

Your key responsibilities will include:

Handle all daily kitchen operations including breakfast and lunch service.

• Preparation of sandwiches, wraps

• Have a positive and can do attitude and keep the highest quality customer service 

•  Attention to detail and great communication skills, in both giving and receiving instruction, during service and in handover.

• Excellent ability to follow prep lists and ordering sheets from the head chef

• Excellent stock control & ordering skills 

• Culinary training 3 years experience in a similar cafe venue will be highly considered 

• Ability to work weekends (rotating roster) 

• A true passion for food, a good understanding of a cuisine that serves wholesome, flavoursome meals.

• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and follow correct procedures for the opening and closing of the kitchen 

• The ability to work in a team but also autonomously with great attention to detail
