Domestic Assistant

About the role

The Pearl Domestic Assistant actively supports elderly people who are living at home, either independently or with family. This is a casual position with 15-20 hours a week in community aged care that involves driving to each client's house. At least 4 day availability from Monday to Friday is required. There is potential to move to permanent part time after 6 months.

Key responsibilities

• General household cleaning: kitchen, bathrooms, and toilets, vacuuming and mopping
• Assisting with unaccompanied shopping for clients
• Meal preparation
• Bed making
• Laundry assistance and ironing
• Being a positive presence for clients while carrying out work in their homes

About you

• 1+ years' experience in general cleaning or domestic assistant role is highly regarded but not essential
• Previous experience in aged care or disability care is highly regarded but not essential
• A friendly demeanor and openness to listening to clients and understanding what they need and want
• The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Australian Residency
• Up to date national police check (issued within the last 6 months)
• Australian Driver's license
• Regular access to a vehicle
• Current First aid and CPR certificate
