Project Officer – Chancery
The Archdiocese of Hobart is the expression of the Catholic Church in Tasmania and includes the Catholic Church parishes throughout the state. “Chancery” is the traditional name for those administrative offices of a Catholic diocese which directly support the diocesan bishop. In the Archdiocese of Hobart, the Chancery provides advice and support to the Archbishop of Hobart, Vicar General and Diocesan Curia in the pastoral governance and administration of the archdiocese, its parishes, diocesan entities and agencies.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Project Officer to join our Chancery team in New Town. This is a diverse and rewarding role supporting projects, events and initiatives that contribute directly to the mission and operations of the Catholic Church across Tasmania.
About the Role
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, you will coordinate and deliver a range of diocesan projects while building strong relationships with parishes, clergy, agencies, community stakeholders and government authorities. A key responsibility of the role is supporting the management and administration of Catholic Cemeteries Tasmania, ensuring high-quality service and compliance across cemetery operations statewide.
This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys balancing project work, administration, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving in a purpose-driven environment.
