Warehouse Leading Hand

About the Role

We are looking for an organised and reliable Warehouse Leading Hand to support the day-to-day operation of our warehouse and logistics function. This is a hands-on role where you'll work with the warehouse team while helping to coordinate the efficient receival, storage, picking and dispatch of goods.

Working closely with our Production team, you'll play an important role in ensuring packaging and materials are prepared ahead of production runs, enabling smooth and seamless production changeovers. You'll also help maintain accurate inventory records within MYOB and support the efficient running of warehouse operations.

The business operates in the FMCG sector, supplying major retailers both within Australia and internationally.

To be successful, you'll be proactive, organised and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You'll have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and be someone who leads by example.

This role is based at our manufacturing site in Cromer on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Due to the operational nature of the position, candidates who live locally or within a reasonable commute of the factory will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and logistics function.

• Receive, store, pick and dispatch goods accurately and efficiently.

• Lead by example and support the warehouse team in daily operations.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movements within MYOB.

• Ensure packaging and materials are prepared and available to support seamless production changeovers.

• Work closely with the Production team to ensure materials are available when required.

• Assist with stocktakes, cycle counts and investigation of stock discrepancies.

• Ensure warehouse documentation is accurate and up to date.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse.

• Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.

• Support the training and onboarding of new warehouse team members.

• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and efficiencies.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.

• Previous experience as a Leading Hand or in a role with additional warehouse responsibilities is highly regarded.

• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.

• Experience using warehouse or inventory management software.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (particularly Outlook and Excel).

• Strong computer skills with the ability to accurately maintain inventory records and transactions within MYOB.

• Experience working in a manufacturing or FMCG environment is highly regarded.

• Current forklift licence and demonstrated forklift experience.

• Current driver's licence.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritise work and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
