As a Senior Bookkeeper at PBS, you will take responsibility for delivering high-quality bookkeeping, payroll and compliance services across a portfolio of clients.

You will work closely with clients and the broader PBS team to resolve complex bookkeeping matters, maintain accurate financial records and ensure client work is completed correctly and on time.

This is a senior technical and client-facing position. It does not involve managing team members.

• Deliver full-function bookkeeping, payroll processing and compliance

• Manage the bookkeeping requirements of multiple clients

• Build trusted and professional client relationships

• Use Karbon to manage workflows, tasks and deadlines

• Leverage systems and technology to deliver efficient, accurate work

• Work from home, with biannual in-person meetings (including occasional interstate travel)

We are specifically looking for someone who:

• Has previously worked for a bookkeeping firm or outsourced bookkeeping practice

• Has managed the bookkeeping requirements of multiple clients at the same time

• Has practical experience using Karbon workflow management software

These are important requirements for the role. Experience working solely as an internal bookkeeper for one business will not provide the breadth of experience we require.

• 10+ years of experience delivering end-to-end bookkeeping and payroll services

• Experience managing a portfolio of clients within a bookkeeping or accounting practice

• Practical experience using Karbon to manage recurring work, tasks and deadlines

• 5+ years of experience using Xero

• Current BAS Agent registration

• An excellent understanding of Australian GST, BAS and payroll compliance

• Strong client communication and relationship-management skills

• The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple client files

• Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative

• Exceptional time-management and organisational skills

• The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to check and verify your own work
