About the Role
The SAP Supply Chain Architect is responsible for leading supply chain solution design, technical governance, and consulting capability across COSOL's SAP Practice. The role operates at the intersection of solution architecture, delivery leadership, commercial contribution, and Application Managed Services (AMS) — ensuring supply chain solutions are designed correctly from initial scoping through to successful project delivery.
The role serves as the architectural authority for SAP Supply Chain, providing governance across project engagements, supporting pre-sales and proposal development, mentoring consultants, and contributing to the ongoing development of COSOL's SAP intellectual property and internal capability.
Working closely with the Capability Manager SAP, Project Managers, and Capability Leads, the SAP Supply Chain Architect ensures delivery standards are upheld, resources are aligned to the appropriate engagements, and reusable solution assets are developed to accelerate future implementations and support the continued growth of the SAP Practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Architecture & Design AuthorityOwn the supply chain solution architecture across project engagements — defining the design approach, governing its integrity, and ensuring decisions are technically sound and commercially viableLead functional reviews of client SAP supply chain environments, producing assessments that identify configuration gaps, structural weaknesses, and strategic improvement opportunitiesTranslate complex business and operational requirements into clear, defensible SAP solution designs that can be executed by the broader teamSet and uphold design standards across the supply chain module — documenting patterns, decisions, and rationale to build reusable practice IPProvide design oversight and technical direction to other consultants working within the supply chain spacePre-Sales & ConsultingPartner with the Capability Manager to shape and progress SAP Supply Chain opportunitiesLead client discovery workshops and technical scoping sessionsProduce Statements of Work (SOWs), solution architectures, ROM estimates, and detailed effort estimatesValidate proposed solutions against SAP Best Practice and each client's existing SAP landscapeReview commercial proposals prior to submission to ensure technical integrity and delivery feasibilityLead current-state assessments, future-state design workshops, and SAP consulting engagements that assist clients in defining their transformation roadmapEngage confidently with executive stakeholders across Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and IT as a trusted SAP Supply Chain consultant and solution architectContribute thought leadership, capability development, and cross-practice collaboration to strengthen COSOL's SAP go-to-market strategyAMS Escalation & Practice SupportServe as the senior escalation point for complex supply chain tickets within COSOL's AMS practice — providing resolution, direction, and knowledge transfer to the wider teamConduct root cause analysis on systemic or recurring supply chain issues within client environments and deliver structured remediation recommendationsMentor and uplift other team members on supply chain design principles, configuration standards, and client engagement approachesCollaborate with AMS team members on ticket prioritisation and resolution documentationProject DeliveryContribute to SAP RISE readiness and S/4HANA uplift engagements in a supply chain architecture capacity — leading design, gap assessment, and solution validation activitiesAuthor high-quality functional and technical specifications that enable independent execution by other team membersSupport go-live activities including solution validation, testing oversight, and hypercare where requiredContribute to a varied portfolio of client engagements across asset-intensive industries as practice demand requires
Qualifications, Experience & Technical CompetenciesEssentialMinimum 10+ years SAP Supply Chain experience with clear progression to solution architecture or principal consultant levelDemonstrated ability to own and govern supply chain solution design across complex, multi-entity SAP environments — not just deliver configurationDeep technical foundation across MM, WM/EWM, inventory management, and procurement — sufficient to set design direction and review others' workStrong understanding of supply chain integration design with FI/CO, SD, and PP including cross-module architecture and account determination principlesPre-sales experience — comfortable leading scoping conversations, shaping solution approaches, and contributing to commercial proposalsFunctional review and advisory experience — assessing client environments and producing strategic recommendationsEstablished AMS or managed services experience — operating in an escalation, enhancement, and optimisation capacityWorking knowledge of SAP RISE and S/4HANA landscape including supply chain architecture considerations and migration frameworksStrong written and verbal communication skills — able to engage and influence senior client and internal stakeholders across both technical and operational domainsAble to operate independently and lead engagements with minimal supervision in a remote-first environmentDesirableSAP Supply Chain certification or equivalent formal accreditationBaseline security clearance, or willingness to obtain (COSOL will support sponsorship)Exposure to adjacent modules including EAM, EHS, or FinanceExperience contributing to SAP RISE readiness assessments or S/4HANA migration programmesMulti-client consulting background with demonstrated ability to lead across industries and environmentsExperience working with or advising clients in asset-intensive industries — utilities, energy, resources, water, or transport
