THE ROLE As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and support enterprise data, BI, and AI-enabled analytics solutions within my client's Azure Databricks environment. Balancing project delivery with BAU operations, you will partner with stakeholders to deliver highly scalable data pipelines that drive smarter business outcomes.
What You Will Do:Engineer Solutions: Architect and maintain data pipelines and analytical models using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, SQL, Python, PySpark, and Databricks SQL.Empower Analytics: Optimise and administer Power BI datasets and semantic models to facilitate advanced reporting and data-driven decisions.Champion DevOps & Governance: Drive CI/CD practices via Azure DevOps while enforcing data governance, security, and access control best practices.Optimise & Troubleshoot: Proactively monitor data platforms, resolve complex issues, and improve system performance and reliability.
WHAT YOU BRINGEssentialDemonstrated expertise in delivering enterprise data solutions on Microsoft Azure.Hands-on, advanced skills in SQL, Python, PySpark, and Databricks SQL.Proven background in designing data warehouses and analytical data models.Strong Power BI development and administration skills, including DAX.Solid experience in DevOps environments, utilising CI/CD pipelines and source control.The ability to balance new project delivery with ongoing production/BAU support.
DesirableA background in the retail industry (experience in supply chain, logistics, or banking is also advantageous).Exposure to Azure AI, Machine Learning, or advanced analytics projects.
