Veterinary Nurse / Veterinary Receptionist

About the role

Albion Park & Gerringong Veterinary Hospital are seeking a friendly, motivated Veterinary Nurse / Veterinary Receptionist to join our supportive team on a full-time basis. This role offers a balanced mix of 50% Veterinary Nursing and 50% Veterinary Reception, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on patient care and building relationships with clients. The successful applicant will also assist with our Puppy Preschool program during busy periods, with full training provided.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing support to Veterinarians during consultations, procedures, and surgeries.

• Assist with animal handling, patient care, and monitoring.

• Maintain clinical records and ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment.

• Welcome clients, answer phone and email enquiries, and schedule appointments.

• Manage patient admissions, discharges, and billing transactions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and compassionate support to pet owners.

• Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to ensure efficient daily operations.

• Teach a 4-week puppy preschool program during high volume seasons (training provided)

About you

• Have a valid Australian Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

• The ability to work 1 in 4 Saturdays (8am-4pm shift)

• Confident client communication skills

• A genuine passion for animal welfare and client care

• Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
