About the role
Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council (OLALC) is seeking an experienced and motivated Program Manager to lead our Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) in Bathurst.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to oversee the SHS Program, the Women and Children’s Refuge and the Sustaining Tenancies in Social Housing (STiSH) programs, supporting individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
As the SHS Program Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, client-centred, trauma-informed and culturally safe services.
You will lead and support a team of frontline staff, oversee day-to-day program operations, manage complex service delivery issues, build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure compliance with funding, legislative and organisational requirements.
Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring and support to staff
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the SHS, Women and Children’s Refuge and STiSH programs
Ensure high-quality, client-centred, trauma-informed and culturally appropriate service delivery
Support staff with complex client cases, crisis responses, risk management and safety planning
Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Manage staff performance, probation reviews, training and professional development
Ensure compliance with funding agreements, relevant legislation, industry standards and OLALC policies
Manage program budgets, brokerage and resources effectively
Prepare timely reports for the CEO, funding bodies and other stakeholders
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with government and community services
Promote a positive, collaborative and culturally safe workplace culture
Respond effectively to incidents and crises while prioritising the safety and wellbeing of clients and staff
To be successful in this role, you will have strong leadership experience and a sound understanding of the Specialist Homelessness Service sector.
You will demonstrate:
Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services or a related field
Demonstrated management and leadership experience
Strong knowledge of homelessness, housing and relevant legislation and frameworks
Understanding of domestic and family violence, safety planning and risk assessment
Knowledge of child protection and mandatory reporting requirements
Experience leading, developing and managing teams
Ability to support staff with complex client cases and high-pressure situations
Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Experience in performance management, supervision and staff development
Demonstrated ability to manage compliance, reporting, budgets and risk
A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and trauma-informed practice
Current Working with Children Check
Satisfactory Criminal History Check
Current unrestricted Driver’s License
