About the role
Cranbourne Central Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join our dedicated healthcare team. As Practice Manager, you will be the operational backbone of our medical centre, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and supporting our clinical staff to deliver exceptional patient care. This role is vital to maintaining our centre's efficiency, financial health, and reputation within the community.
What you'll be doing
Managing the overall operations of the medical centre, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
Overseeing patient reception and administrative functions to ensure a welcoming and efficient experience
Managing budgets, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with financial protocols
Implementing and maintaining practice policies and procedures that align with healthcare regulations and best practice standards
Recruiting, training, supervising and supporting administrative and reception staff
Liaising with healthcare providers, allied health professionals, and external organisations to coordinate services
Managing patient records, confidentiality, and compliance with privacy legislation
Ensuring compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and medical centre accreditation standards
Addressing patient and staff concerns professionally and promptly
Implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction
What we're looking for
Proven experience working as a Practice Manager or in a senior administrative role within a medical practice or healthcare setting
Working knowledge of Best Practice software.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
Sound financial management experience, including budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting
Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to manage and motivate a team
Knowledge of healthcare compliance, privacy legislation (such as the Privacy Act), and medical practice regulations
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and healthcare management software
A professional approach to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information
Current knowledge of billing and claims processing for medical services
Ideally, qualifications in practice management, business administration, or healthcare management
