THE POSITION

You will play an important role in facilitating Sell and Parker operations at our Blacktown site. Responsible for performing a variety of manual labour tasks to assist in the day-to-day operation of the yard, including but not limited to inspecting and sorting recycled material on the conveyor belt and moving material to appropriate areas; maintaining the cleanliness of the sorting line and surrounding area; help maintain equipment and other manual labour duties.

TASKS

• Performs routine duties of a manual nature subject to the task being required in the yard such as ferrous picking; material sorting; yard cleaning and sweeping

• Identify and assist machinery in the removal of any materials that can't be shredded (Heavy metals, wire, etc.)

• Identify and remove any prohibited scrap (Gas bottles, rechargeable batteries, safes, accumulators, etc.) from the yard

• Identify and remove any prohibited shred (sealed units, air bag detonators etc.) from the shredder

• Clean equipment as scheduled and/or required

• Participate when required in routine maintenance

• Conduct traffic safely

HOURS

• Monday to Friday            6:00 am to 4:30 pm

• Saturday                         as required

ABOUT YOU

• Proven experience in the Metal, Manufacturing, or Mining Industries, desirable but not essential

• Valid Forklift license required

• Experience in manual handling and labouring tasks within a high-paced environment

• Understanding of WHS legislation and other work-related policies

• High-level organisation skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Problem solver

• Punctual and Reliable

• Ability to attain and retain fitness for work (including clear Drug and Alcohol Screens)

• Currently have the right to work in Australia

• Pass a Police Check
