Practitioner - Families, Children and Young People

Anglicare Tasmania is seeking a permanent, full-time (76 hours fortnightly) Practitioner for our Child and Youth Healthy Minds Program, based in Zeehan on the West Coast.

About the role:

The Child and Youth Healthy Minds Program provides free, non-clinical mental health support for children and young people (ages 0-18) and their families. Practitioners tailored support with flexible outreach options at school, at home, or in the community to promote effective early intervention.

• Relevant degree level qualifications (Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health), or essentially required accreditation from a recognised institution.
• Demonstrated experience providing support to people facing adversity and challenges in their lives.
• Knowledge and understanding of current best practice in supporting people with a range of social issues including children, young people and their families.
• Understanding of additional impacting factors of supporting families children and young people in a rural setting.
• Have a genuine passion for working alongside young people and supporting their growth and wellbeing.
• Understand the broader service system and how to navigate and collaborate within it.

• An attractive salary of $95,934 to $100,538 (full-time equivalent) + Super + Salary sacrifice.

The successful applicant will be required to:

• provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check;
• present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
• provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
• complete a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical;
• provide a current provisional or full Australian Drivers Licence.

On commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
